War in Iraq lecture set Feb. 20 in Lewes, Seaford

5:01 p.m., Feb. 17, 2004--Ralph Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication and distinguished journalist in residence at the University of Delaware, will discuss the turmoil in the Middle East in a lecture on Friday, Feb. 20, titled “War in Iraq: American Perception Versus World Views.”

Part of the month-long Land and Sea Lecture Series, Begleiter’s lecture will be offered at both 10 a.m. at the Virden Center at the Hugh R. Sharp campus, 700 Pilottown Rd., Lewes, and again at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Rd., Seaford.

Begleiter teaches courses in communication, political science and journalism at the University of Delaware. He joined the faculty in July 1999, bringing with him more than 30 years of broadcast journalism experience. He holds an honors bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University, a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. At the University, he directs the Global Agenda Speaker Series on International Issues.

The Land and Sea Lecture Series is a month-long program featuring talks by members of UD’s faculty. All the lectures are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Office of Alumni & University Relations at (302) 735-8200.
