UD alumnus Mike Koplove pitches against Phillies

1:06 p.m., May 3, 2004--Former University of Delaware baseball player Mike Koplove saw action close to home on Sunday, pitching one shutout inning for the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 6-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Koplove, a native of Philadelphia, allowed one walk and one hit, and struck out two Phillies in relief of Arizona starter Brandon Webb.

For the season, Koplove is 2-1 with an earned run average of 4.73. He has not allowed a run in his last three outings.
