Mark your calendars now! 2:36 p.m., Dec. 17, 2003--With 2004 only weeks away, now is the time to map out your schedule for January. Below are some important dates to note as you plan the months ahead. Sunday, Jan. 4: Residence halls reopen for Winter Session. Check-in is from 2-9 p.m. Dining halls reopen for dinner. Monday, Jan. 5: Offices reopen. Winter Session classes begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6: Fee payment deadline for spring semester. Thursday, Jan. 8: Last day to register for or add Winter Session courses. No tuition refund for course withdrawals after this date. Last day to change dining plan. Saturday, Jan. 10: Winter Commencement 2004, 10:30 a.m., Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center. Tickets required. For information, call 831-8741. Thursday, Jan. 15: Deadline for graduate admission recommendations from departments for spring semester. Deadline for receipt of dissertations, executive position papers and masters theses for degrees to be conferred in February. Monday, Jan. 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Day observed. Academic and administrative offices closed; classes suspended. Friday, Jan. 23: Last day to change registration or withdraw from Winter Session classes without academic penalty. Monday, Feb. 2: Deadline for admission to doctoral candidacy for degrees conferred in May. Friday, Feb. 6: Last day of Winter Session classes. Saturday, Feb. 7: Final examinations for Winter Session. Dinner is the last meal served in dining halls. Sunday, Feb. 8: Residence hall check-in for spring semester students and room change period for Winter Session students 2-9 p.m. Brunch is the first meal served in dining halls.
