3:42 p.m., Oct. 13, 2003--Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at UD, appeared on CNNfn's Money and Markets program on Oct. 10 to discuss reforms at the New York Stock Exchange. Also, the Oct. 13 Washington Post quotes Elson in a story concerning Mesa Air Group. He said a business deal in which a chief executive officer is on both sides of a transaction "raises concerns." And, the Oct. 11 New York Times quotes him in a story about big retirement payouts to NYSE executives, with Elson saying the new chief executive officer will develop his own team and salary structure.

The front page of the Sunday, Oct. 12, Wilmington News Journal features a story about the UD bioethics class and related issues [http://www.delawareonline.com/newsjournal/local/2003/10/12udbioethicsclas.html]. Public Relations pitched the story a few weeks back.

The Oct. 12 Chattanooga Times Free Press has a feature on UD quarterback Andy Hall, comparing him favorably to Rich Gannon. "I've just been blessed to be put in a situation to show what I can do," Hall said.

Margaret Stetz, Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women’s Studies, gets a brief mention in the Oct. 12 Washington Post in a story about the first International Rebecca West Society meeting held in New York.
