HRIM career fair set for Feb. 22-23

2:29 p.m., Feb. 11, 2004--The University of Delaware’s Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) is sponsoring a two-day career fair on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 22-23.

The fair, which runs from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, and from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday, will be held in Multipurpose Rooms A, B and C in the Trabant University Center. Forty-seven recruiting companies will attend, including Marriott, Aramark, Darden, Disney, Hyatt and the Hotel DuPont.

Regynald Washington, who chairs the National Restaurant Association, and Joseph McInerney, president and CEO of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, will participate in the event and will answer questions and meet with students from noon-1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, in the Trabant Theatre at the Trabant University Center.

The career fair, which is now into its 12th year, attracts many of the top employers in the hotel and restaurant management industry and gives students an opportunity to network and get an early start on selecting internships and permanent positions. Many companies will make individual presentations in designated rooms. (For a list of these companies and their agendas, visit [http://www.udel.edu/HRIM/news1/careerfair-04.html].)

The fair is free and open to all UD students. HRIM students are especially encouraged to attend. For more information, call Donna Laws at 831-6747.
