Student Housing Fair set Feb. 24

p.m., Feb. 18, 2004--UD students can learn all about on-campus housing opportunities at a Housing Fair scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.

A drawing will be held for one year of free housing and dining, and there will be door prizes and giveaways. Students are encouraged to check out the fair and enjoy the Hawaiian luau theme, music, food, entertainment and more.

Students can review their on-campus housing options for next year and sign up, too. Students should bring their IDs to the fair.

“The Housing Fair has evolved to be a very successful event and is continually recognized by students as one of the more popular campus events,” Janette Humphrey, staff assistant, Housing Assignment Services, said. “It is known as the kick-off to the on-campus housing sign-up process. Each year, the number of students attending increases.”

The objectives of the Housing Fair are to:

  • Increase awareness of the on-campus housing sign-up process;
  • Promote on-campus housing locations and options available to all returning students;
  • Provide a central location and time for students to ask detailed questions about the on-campus housing process and sign up on the web; and
  • Give other UD student support units—including Dining Services, UD Bookstore, Student Centers and Transportation—an opportunity to educate students about their services.
