‘Southern Jewish Life’ focus of Dec. 8 seminar

3:34 p.m., Dec. 4, 2003--Noted historian and scholar Dale Rosengarten will discuss “A Portion of the People: 300 Years of Southern Jewish Life,” at a seminar in American art, history and material culture from 4-5:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, in Room 204 Gore Hall.

A segment at the end of the seminar will give participants an opportunity to ask questions and engage Rosengarten in informal discussion.

Rosengarten is the curator of the Jewish Heritage Collection at the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. She has curated exhibitions at art museums throughout the United States and has coordinated research for a major museum exhibition, cosponsored by the College of Charleston, the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina’s McKissick Museum.
