Hillel Center hosts Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur events

8:55 a.m., Sep. 4, 2003--Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services are among the many events taking place this fall at Hillel Student Center, 47 West Delaware Ave.

September and October events at Hillel, unless otherwise noted, include:

  • Friday, Sept. 5—Opening Shabbat services and dinner, 6:30 p.m.,
  • Saturday, Sept. 6—HavDeli: Havdalah and Deli—A Perfect Combination, 7:30 p.m.;
  • Sunday, Sept. 7—Graduate student barbecue, 6-8 p.m.;
  • Wednesday, Sept. 10—9/11 Memorial Vigil, 5:30 p.m.;
  • Friday, Sept. 12—Freshman parents reception and Shabbat services/dinner, 5 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Sept. 16—Welcome to Koach—dinner at Grotto’s, 6:30 p.m.;
  • Wednesday, Sept. 17—Kesher meet and greet, 7 p.m.;
  • Friday, Sept. 19—Comedy Shabbat services and dinner, Conservative and Reform services at 6:30 p.m., Joel Chasnoff performs at 9 p.m.;
  • Saturday, Sept. 20—HavDeli: Havdalah and Deli—A Perfect Combination, 7 p.m.;

  • Sunday, Sept. 28—Tashlich services, 4 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Sept. 30—Helga Embacher will discuss “Anti-Semitism in the New Europe,” 7:30 p.m., Collins Room, Perkins Student Center;
  • Sunday, Oct. 5—Yom Kippur dinner and services, dinner at 5:30 p.m., services begin at 6:30 p.m., Conservative in Multipurpose Room B, Reform in Multipurpose Room A, Trabant University Center;
  • Monday, Oct. 6—Yom Kippur services, off and on during the day, beginning at 9:30 p.m., Conservative, Multipurpose Room B, Reform, Multipurpose Room A, Trabant University Center;
  • Monday, Oct. 6—Break the Fast, 6-9 p.m., Hillel Student Center; and
  • Wednesday, Oct. 8—“Raise the Roof Barbecue,” 5 p.m.
