Police investigate fire bombing on Haines Street

2:26 p.m., March 5, 2004--Newark Police are investigating an incident in which someone threw a firebomb through the basement window of a residence in the 100 block of Haines Street at about 2:30 a.m., Friday, March 5.

The residents of the house, who are UD students, were hosting a party in the basement, and there were approximately 10 persons in the basement when the firebomb ignited. The fire was extinguished by the residents before the Aetna fire company arrived, and no one was hurt.
