Anja Boettcher scored two of the four second-half goals for Maryland, which is ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division I.

The teams battled to a scoreless draw for 35 minutes of play before the Terrapins erupted for four goals in the second stanza.

Maryland’s junior All-American Colleen Barbieri opened the scoring at 47:26 when she tucked a shot around the outstretched leg of Delaware goalkeeper Megan Allen, who made eight saves in defeat.

Boettcher scored on a penalty corner at 56:04, and Terp sophomore Jackie Ciconte followed with a goal 37 second later to extend the Maryland lead to 3-0.

Boettcher closed the scoring with her second goal, at 64:46.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens will play at Hofstra University at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, then will visit Drexel University on Sunday, Oct. 26.
