9:20 a.m., Sept. 12, 2003--The University of the Pacific field hockey team defeated the University of Delaware 2-1 in overtime Thursday night at Rullo Stadium to snap the Fightin Blue Hens three-game winning streak. Pacific freshman Audrey Harrington scored eight minutes into overtime for the victory. Harrington picked up a loose ball and backhanded a shot past Delaware keeper Megan Allen, who finished the night with four saves, including a sprawling stop on a Pacific two-on-none break earlier in overtime. Pacific's Vianney Campos opened the scoring in the contest as she ripped a shot past Allen from just inside the circle at 24:07. The game remained 1-0 in favor of Pacific until UD freshman Katie Evans evened the score with a backhanded shot past Gina Sadler with less than four minutes remaining in the second half. The Blue Hens outshot Pacific 12-8, including a 7-2 margin in the second quarter, and failed to convert on 11 penalty corners. Pacific improved to 2-2 while UD fell to 3-2.
