Elinor Harrington Storms
 

Nov. 5, 2003--Elinor Harrington Storms, 82, who directed the Remedial Reading Laboratory at the University of Delaware from 1950-52, died Saturday, Nov. 1, in Schenectady, N.Y.

Ms. Storms received her bachelor’s degree from Russell Sage College in 1943, and her master’s degree from Columbia University in 1946. She also completed her graduate work in psychology of reading at Temple University in 1950.

She taught English at the Hornell Junior Senior High School from 1947-50. She then became director of Remedial Reading Laboratory at UD, a position she held until 1952. Later, she was a reading consultant in West Chester, Pa., Westchester County (N.Y.) and the Hawthorne Elementary School system.

A memorial service will be conducted at Emmanuel-Friedens Church, 218 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22.
