Economic impact surveys due Oct. 31

4:05 p.m., Oct. 29, 2003--The Office of Institutional Research and Planning at UD is conducting a survey to determine the economic impact that UD staff members have on the Newark community and the state of Delaware.

The study, which requires no personal identification, asks randomly selected participants to indicate their UD employment status, general area of residence, mileage and number of daily round-trips to UD, as well as listing six Newark businesses frequented on a regular basis.

Survey respondents also are asked to indicate monthly expenditures for items ranging from utilities, food and beverages, to car payments, insurance premiums, home furnishings, entertainment, recreation and childcare and to estimate the percentage of these expenditures in Delaware.

To ensure that the study is meaningful, staff members are asked to complete and return questionnaires to the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, 325 Hullihen Hall, by Friday, Oct. 31.
