Commitment to Education Award nominations sought

4:10 p.m., Jan. 16, 2004--UD’s Education Alumni Association is accepting nominations for its 2004 Commitment to Education Award, which honors alumni who have contributed as teachers, researchers, administrators, friends of education with an extra measure of commitment.

The nominee must be a UD education alumna or alumnus and must have at least three years’ experience as an educator. Nominations are open to anyone.

The number of awards will be determined by the quality of the candidates, and awards will be presented at the Education Alumni Association Recognition Dinner in May.

To make a nomination, the following information should be submitted on a single typed page:

Nominee’s name;
The nominator’s relationship to the nominee;
How the nominee has distinguished himself or herself in the field of education; and
Nominator’s name, address and signature.

The nominator should also submit no more than two typed pages prepared by the nominee including the nominee’s:

Name, mailing address and telephone number;
Educational background, including all degrees received, years when they were received and the institutions from which they were awarded;
Professional experience;
Professional contributions, such as service, outstanding professional achievements, awards, honors and leadership positions held; and
Community activities, including service, leadership positions held, and/or awards and honors within the community.
