UD student wins bookstore drawing for UD-UMass tickets

4:45 p.m., Nov. 10, 2003--Gladys Duarte, a freshman nursing major, is the winner of a pair of tickets to Saturday’s Atlantic 10 Conference showdown between the Fightin’ Blue Hens and the University of Massachusetts.

K.C. Keeler (right) draws the winning ticket at the UD Bookstore. Also on hand for the drawing are Cosmo Olivieri (center), bookstore general manager, and Curt Krouse, marketing associate, Intercollegiate Athletics Program.

Duarte, whose winning entry in the Hall of Fame Day promotion was drawn Friday, Nov. 7, in the UD Bookstore by head football coach K.C. Keeler, also received a Blue Hen football signed by Coach Keeler, as well as a $50 bookstore gift certificate.

“I definitely feel lucky. I had just taken a Chem 105 exam, and finding out that I won the prize energized me,” Duarte said. “I just couldn’t believe that I won a contest that was being advertised around campus.”

The UD Bookstore and the Intercollegiate Athletics Program cosponsored the event.
