Robbery on East Main Street May 23

10:07 a.m., May 24, 2004--Newark Police are investigating a robbery that occurred around 11:05 p.m., Sunday, May 23, in the parking lot of Market East Plaza. No students were involved.

Three men had just pulled into the parking lot and were preparing to go into the East End Café when two suspects approached the car on bicycles. The suspect on the driver’s side displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The other suspect was unarmed. The men in the car turned over their wallets and money, and the suspects fled on their bicycles through Kelway Plaza. No one was injured.
