UD student robbed Jan. 4

9:19 a.m., Jan. 5, 2004--Newark Police are investigating the strong-arm robbery of a UD student that occurred at 3 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, in the 100 block of East Park Place.

The 20-year-old student was walking to his home when a blue Honda Civic approached him. A young man got out of the car, approached the student and struck him in the face with his fist. When he fell to the ground, the suspect took his cell phone, wallet and an unknown amount of cash from his pockets. The suspect then fled in the car, which was occupied by at least three other persons. The student did not require medical attention.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Keld at 366-7110, ext. 136, or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
