Social responsibility in design conference May 13-14 1:22 p.m., May 6, 2004--Social responsibility in fashion and public design will be the topic of a conference held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, May 13, in the Gallery and Collins Room of the Perkins Student Center and from 3-5 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the Kirkwood and Blue & Gold Rooms on the second floor of the Perkins Student Center. Student panels will present and discuss topics affecting the fashion industry, including human rights, environmental and sustainable practices, the effects of production and consumption and the design of public places. The conference is sponsored by the Department of Consumer Studies, the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy and the Center for Historic Architecture and Design.
