The scoop on free ice cream

4:20 p.m., April 27, 2004--Ben & Jerry’s, purveyors of fine ice cream at UD, ushered in spring and warm weather with its free annual ice cream party at the Trabant University Center from noon-8 p.m. on Tuesday. Scoopers Larry Malandruccolo, Justin Crews, Linda Hammond and Stacy Hinson dished out thousands of cups of Ben and Jerry’s most popular flavors—Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and good old vanilla to enthusiastic students and staff.

As part of the party, Ben & Jerry’s also promoted young voter registration through the Rock The Vote program. Freshman Lauren Hoban was at a table with information on Rock the Vote and said about 50 students had signed on to become registered voters in an hour and a half.
