Founded more than 20 years ago, UD’s Percussion Ensemble is dedicated to performing standard as well as the newly composed percussion ensemble literature. Directed by Harvey Price, assistant professor of music, the ensemble is made up of between eight and 14 UD percussion students and gives four concerts a year on campus. The group also performs off campus at music festivals, children’s concerts and with various choirs in the region.

The University of Delaware Marimba Ensemble is made up of three quartets of percussion students. These groups perform transcriptions, popular music and new compositions. The marimba ensemble has performed in Israel and at the West Point Marimba Festival, the Pennsylvania Day of Percussion and the Settlement Music School Percussion Festival.
