UD professor’s book 'Colonial Delaware' reissued

11:48 a.m., Jan. 26, 2004--John A. Munroe’s book, “Colonial Delaware,” was recently reprinted by the Delaware Heritage Commission.

Originally published in 1976, the 298-page book is one in a series chronicling the 13 original colonies. Now reprinted with more than 200 endnotes not prepared for the first edition, Munroe’s book also includes several black-and-white plates depicting people and places described in the text.

Munroe, who taught at UD for more than 35 years, is H. Rodney Sharp Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Delaware. In addition to serving as chair of the history department for 17 years, he has received many recognitions and honors, including UD’s Francis Alison Award. Besides “Colonial Delaware,” Munroe authored “Federalist Delaware, 1775-1815” and “Louis McLane, Federalist and Jacksonian.”

“Colonial Delaware” is available in hardcover for $15 and softcover for $10. Copies can be ordered by calling (302) 577-5044.
