Consumer studies career fair set Feb. 17

4:23 p.m., Feb. 13, 2004--UD’s Department of Consumer Studies (CNST) and the MBNA Career Services Center are cosponsoring a career day on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The fair is free and open to all UD students. CNST students are especially encouraged to attend.

The day begins with a career fair from 1-3 p.m. in the Rodney Room at Perkins Student Center. Twenty-eight recruiting organizations will attend, including Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Liz Claiborne, MBNA America, First Investors Corp. and Cendant Mortgage. Now in its seventh year, CNST’s career fair attracts many apparel, fashion and retail/business employers and gives students an opportunity to network and get an early start on pursuing internships and permanent positions.

After the career fair, two alumni panel presentations will be held in the Collins Room of Perkins Student Center. The first session, from 3-3:45 p.m., will feature leadership and consumer economics alumni. A second presentation, showcasing apparel design and fashion merchandising alumni, follow from 4-5 p.m. The panel discussions will give undergraduate students an opportunity to hear about what it’s like working in these industries.

A complete list of organizations attending the career fair is posted at [www.udel.edu/CSC/cnstfair.html]. For more information, call Cindy Holland at 831-8570.
