Change to the University American Express Corporate Card

9:58 a.m., Dec. 2, 2003--American Express recently has instituted a new annual membership fee for University cardholders. The fee (currently $35 per year) is assessed on all accounts. The University will not reimburse cardholders for the annual membership fee.

Cardholders who want to cancel their card should e-mail Burt Wilson, senior buyer in Procurement Services, at [burt@udel.edu].

Once the card is canceled, former cardholders can call American Express at 1-800-528-2122 to have the fee removed. The account must be paid in full (except for the $35 annual fee) in order for the fee to be removed.

Those traveling on University business can use personal credit cards, checks or cash to pay for their travel, and they will be reimbursed for allowable expenses.
