UD baseball star Harden recognized by CAA

9:57 a.m., March 3, 2004--University of Delaware junior outfielder Dave Harden has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Harden hit .667 with three home runs, 10 runs batted in and eight runs scored as the Fightin’ Blue Hens swept a three-game weekend series against St. Joseph's University.

In the opening game of the series, Harden blasted his third home run of the season and scored the winning run at UD rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 9-8.

In the second game, Harden had two hits and two runs batted in, and in the finale he had five hits, two home runs, seven runs batted in and four runs scored.

Harden leads the CAA with five home runs and a 1.192 slugging percentage and is fourth in batting average (.462) and runs batted in (12).
