Fleda Brown poetry reading set April 21 in Dover
The free public event offers an opportunity for visitors to explore the galleries while Brown and fellow poets read new poems they have written about objects in the museum. The author of four collections of poetry, Brown has won many awards, including the Philip Levine Prize, Anhinga Press, 2002, for Breathing In, Breathing Out, the 2001 Porter Fund Literary Prize for poetry and the Kesstrel Writing Award for her Graceland poetry series. Her other books of poetry include Fishing with Blood (1988), Do Not Peel the Birches, (1993) and The Devils Child (1999). Brown also has a limited edition book of poems and images, The Eleusinian Mysteries MS, with Norman Sasowsky (1992) and a chapbook The Earliest House (1993).
