Bird rescue center seeks volunteers

3:10 p.m., Feb. 25, 2004--Tri-State Bird & Rescue Research is recruiting wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers to participate in a wild bird care training opportunity.

An Adult Bird Care Workshop is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb 29, at the Tri-State’s Frink Center for Wildlife, 110 Possum Hollow Road, Newark.

The clinic annually cares for more than 2,800 indigenous birds, ranging from hummingbirds and robins to great blue herons and eagles. Volunteers will learn how to feed, handle and care for injured and ill birds.

To register, contact Julia Bartley at 737-9543, extension 102, or e-mail [jbartley@tristatebird.org].
