The Fightin’ Blue Hens lost 2-0 Friday, 5-4 in 11 innings Saturday and 9-2 Sunday.

With the losses, UD drops to 28-21 overall and 10-10 in the CAA. The Hens fell from fourth place to sixth while George Mason remained in first place.

After a nonconference home game against Rider University at 3 p.m., Wednesday, UD will close the regular season with a three-game CAA series against Virginia Commonwealth University at Bob Hannah Stadium. Game times are 3 p.m., Friday, and 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Virginia Commonwealth is in third place in the conference. The Rams have a record of 30-20 overall and 13-8 in the CAA.

In Friday’s game, UD was led by third baseman Ryan Graham, who had two of the team’s four hits. Pitcher Scott Rambo went seven and one-third innings and took the loss.

Saturday, Hen catcher Brian Valichka had three hits, one run batted in and one run scored. Left fielder Ed McDonnell and shortstop Todd Davison had two hits each. Reliever Joe Coudon, who came on in the ninth for starter Mike Mihalik, took the loss.
