UD baseball team tops Terps 7-6 in the ninth

12:08 p.m., May 6, 2004--The University of Delaware’s baseball team defeated the University of Maryland 7-6, Wednesday night, at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Md.

The Blue Hens, who have won 11 of their last 13 games, improved to 25-16 and extended their winning streak to five games.

Sophomore Todd Davison, who had a pair of RBIs, drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning.

Designated hitter Kelley Buber extended his hitting streak to 22 games with an RBI single in the top of the sixth, tying him for the third-longest streak in UD baseball history.

Blue Hen freshman hurler Chad Kerfoot allowed nine hits and four earned runs in six innings before being relieved by freshman Billy Harris in the seventh. Winning UD reliever Joe Coudon picked up his third win against two losses.

Delaware returns to action at 3 p.m., Friday, when they open a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series with Hofstra University at Hempstead, N.Y.
