10:16 a.m., March 29, 2004--After dropping a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series to the College of William & Mary, the University of Delaware baseball team has now lost six straight games.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens (13-10) will play two mid-week games before hosting CAA rival the University of North Carolina Wilmington in a weekend series. The Hens will play at George Washington University at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, and then will host the University of Maryland at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at Bob Hannah Stadium.

UD will host UNC Wilmington in games at 3 p.m., Friday, April 2, and at 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 3-4.

In Williamsburg, Va., the Hens fell 11-2 on Friday and 6-5 on both Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday game went 12 innings.

In Sunday’s game, UD pitcher Jarame Beaupre went eight innings and allowed five runs on five hits. Reliever Mitch Heckert took the loss.

UD first baseman Dan Kozek had three hits, center fielder Steve Van Note had two hits and catcher Brian Valichka had two runs batted in.

The Hens lost Saturday when reliever Joe Coudon hit a batter to force in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th. Mike Mihalik started for UD and got relief help from Heckert and Coudon.

UD designated hitter Kelly Buber had a big day with three hits, including a grand slam, and four runs batted in. Third baseman Ryan Graham had four hits in five trips to the plate.

On Friday, William & Mary battered UD starter Scott Rambo and relievers Coudon and Chad Kerfoot.

The Hens scored both runs in the sixth, when shortstop Todd Davison and right fielder Dave Harden hit back-to-back doubles and left fielder Bryan Hagerich ripped a triple.
