UD lacrosse player Diana is an All-Region selection

1:35 p.m., June 3, 2004--Jenny Diana, who had an outstanding freshman season for the University of Delaware women’s lacrosse team, has been named to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region second team by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association and U.S. Lacrosse.

Diana, an attack, also was named to the All-American rookie team by the web site [www.womenslacrosse.com.]

Diana led the Fightin’ Blue Hens in goals, with 38, and points, with 44. She had either a goal or an assist in 15 of UD’s 16 games this spring and twice scored five goals in a game. The 38 goals are the most by a UD freshman since Jenn Rinnander scored that same number in 1991.

Earlier, Diana was one of three Blue Hens named second team All-Colonial Athletic Association, joining junior midfielder Erin Edell and junior defender Allison Lynch.
