United Way campaign begins Oct. 20

4:39 p.m., Oct. 17, 2003--Monday, Oct. 20, kicks off United Way’s annual campus fund drive—an initiative that aims to raise $175,000 in employee pledges before its conclusion Friday, Nov. 14.

The drive, which is part of United Way of Delaware’s overall $28.3 million campaign, marks a 30-plus-year partnership between the University and United Way and raises money for more than 100 programs throughout the state that target the most pressing human service issues.

One hundred and thirty-five solicitors in departments throughout the University will keep the campaign on track by encouraging colleagues to pledge. Solicitors also are available to answer questions that will ease the pledging process.

To further facilitate giving, a convenient URL link has been developed to provide employees with the option of making secure online pledges. Visit [www.udel.edu/unitedway] to learn more about how you can help those less fortunate.
