Hen women's lacrosse gets win in Colorado
 

9:55 a.m., April 4, 2003--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team evened its record with a 15-3 win over Regis University on Thursday night, April 3, in Denver.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens are now 5-5 entering a Saturday afternoon contest against the University of Denver.

In the victory over Regis, four Hens scored two goals each: juniors Libby Pforr and Michelle Campolettano, sophomore Erin Edell and freshman Kristin Cellucci, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association rookie of the week.

Megan Hager, Nikki Kucharski, Emily Schaaf, Connie Martin, Kristin Cavaretta, Katy Kirby and Morgan Clute scored single goals for UD, and Shannon Kron had two assists.

Delaware staked sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Burtch to an 11-0 lead before Regis registered its first goal. Burtch, who made two saves on six shots, got her first career victory.

After the spring break trip to the Rockies, UD will play road games at the College of William & Mary on April 11 and at Old Dominion University on April 13.

The Hens will return to Rullo Stadium for games against James Madison University on April 18 and George Mason University on April 20.

The CAA championship tournament will be played April 25-27 with games on the home field of the higher seed. UD is 3-0 in conference play and tied atop the standings with Old Dominion.
