Price, Kowalchuk finish second at Tuppeny meet
 

9:10 a.m., May 14, 2003--University of Delaware women's outdoor track and field athletes posted four top five finishes at the Tuppeny Twilight Meet held Monday night, May 12, at Villanova Stadium's Jumbo Elliott Track.

Freshman Daniella Price ran a season-best time of 12.23 to place second in the 100 meters, just .06 behind winner Brittny Boyd of the College of New Jersey.

Junior Christine Kowalchuk also posted a second-place finish as she tossed the javelin 36.80 meters.

Delaware senior Michelle Perno placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 34.03 meters, senior Erin Gemmill was fifth in the women's 1,500 meters with a time of 4:45.13 and Rachel Schultz placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.35.

A total of 29 schools participated in the meet.

Delaware will continue action May 16-18 at the Eastern College Athletic Association championships at George Mason University.
