Delaware tennis teams fall to Webber

11:40 a.m., April 3, 2003--Host Webber International University swept the University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams in action Wednesday afternoon, April 2, at Babson Park, Fla.

Dustin Lewis won at No. 4 singles for the Blue Hens
The Webber men, ranked sixth nationally in the most recent National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) poll, won five singles matches on the way to an 8-1 victory over the Blue Hen men.

The Delaware women dropped a tough 5-4 decision to the hosts, who are ranked 11th nationally in the NAIA poll.

The Delaware women had their two-match win streak snapped to fall to 4-7 while the Delaware men also had a two-match win streak ended to even their record at 9-9.

The match was the Florida debut for the UD men, who will take on Stetson on Thursday, April 3. The Delaware women will take on Embry-Riddle Thursday in the final matches of the week for the Hens during their annual spring trip to Florida.

In women's action against Webber International, the two teams split the six singles matches with Delaware getting victories from Jessica Wilkes at No. 1 singles, from Jen Lamberton at No. 3 and from Julia Shapiro at No. 6.
