Shoemaker, who graduated from UD in 1998 with a degree in international relations and minor in religious studies, was a four- year starter at midfield for the Blue Hens and led the team to two America East Conference titles.

She was a three-time Brine/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-American and three-time All-America East Conference selection, and was named the 1997 America East Player of the Year.

Also, Shoemaker was named UD’s outstanding female athlete as a senior.

This season, her second as head coach at Boston University, Shoemaker guided the Terriers to a record of 14-4 and was undefeated at 5-0 in America East.

The team, which is ranked No. 20 nationally, has earned a spot in the NCAA tournament, where it will face No. 7 Dartmouth University in a first round game on Thursday, May 8.
