UD men's basketball to battle GMU Feb. 5 |

2:05 p.m., Feb. 3, 2003-- The University of Delaware mens basketball team jumped into a five-way tie for second place in the hotly contested Colonial Athletic Association race following a 91-57 rout of the College of William & Mary on Saturday night, Feb. 1, at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center.

The Fightin Blue Hens will next face George Mason University in a home game at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The teams have identical records of 11-8 overall and 6-4 in the CAA, and are part of a second place logjam that also includes Virginia Commonwealth, Drexel and Old Dominion universities. The Hens lost 77-67 at GMU on Jan. 2.

Following the game against GMU, Delaware will travel to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for a key game against the conference front-runner at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8.
Against William & Mary, the Hens bombed away for a season-high 16 three-pointers and ran up its highest point total and winning margin of the season.
Senior guard Ryan Iversen came off the bench to hit on 6 of 9 three-pointers and finished with a career-high 23 points as the Blue Hens handed the Tribe (7-10, 3-6 in CAA) its sixth loss in the last eight games.
UDs Mike Ames connected for five three-pointers and finished with 19 points while Calvin Smith added 14 points, including three slam dunks on ally-oop passes, and a team-high eight rebounds.
Maurice Sessoms added 12 points off the bench and point guard Mike Slattery matched career and season highs with 15 assists.
