May 9, 2003— Judith Giles Compton, 61, died of cancer May 7 at her home in Woodbridge, Va.

A teacher in Prince William County since 1980, she most recently taught gifted children at Lake Ridge Elementary School.

Born in Springfield, Mass., she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of William and Mary in 1963 and a master’s degree in psychology from UD in 1966.

A board member of the Prince William County library system and the Virginia Opera, she was involved in fundraising for Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge.
