Newark Police arrest three for March 2 carjacking
 

11:15 a.m., March 7, 2003--Newark Police arrested three individuals Thursday, March 6, for an incident in which a UD student was beaten and his car stolen at gunpoint around 9:50 p.m., Sunday, March 2, on Yale Drive at School Lane Garden Apartments.

Arrested were Rasheme L. Waters and Thomas A. Ward of Dunsmore Road and Jeffrey C. Walker of Chaucer Drive, all in Newark. Waters was stopped while driving the stolen vehicle out of the Kimberton area, and Ward and Walker were taken into custody at their homes a short time later. The car was recovered without any damage.

All three were charged with first degree carjacking, first degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing and conspiracy, for a total of 15 felonies.
