2:45 p.m., Jan. 24, 2003--Nominations for the Milton L. Draper 22 Student-Alumni Relations Scholarship and the Emalea Pusey Warner and Alexander J. Taylor Sr. Awards for Outstanding Seniors are now being accepted by the UD Alumni Association. The nomination deadline for both awards is Monday, Feb. 24.
To qualify for the Warner and Taylor awards, nominees must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. The awards honor an outstanding senior woman and man.
The $2,000 Alexander J. Taylor Award is presented by the UD Alumni Association to the outstanding senior man who has demonstrated the qualities of scholarship, leadership, citizenship and character exemplified by the late Mr. Taylor, a dedicated and loyal friend of UD.
The $2,000 Emalea P. Warner Award is presented by the UD Alumni Association to the outstanding senior woman who has demonstrated the qualities of scholarship, leadership, citizenship and character exemplified by the late Mrs. Warner, a champion of education in the state of Delaware.
Two recipients will be selected to receive the Milton L. Draper 22 Student-Alumni Relations Scholarship, and each will receive a $2,000 scholarship for the 2003-04 academic year. To qualify the nominee must have been a full-time junior or senior in the fall of 2003, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average in coursework done at the University, show outstanding performance in cultivating student-alumni interaction and exemplify Mr. Drapers characteristics of leadership, dedication and enthusiasm for the University.
