Riley, Sadowsky selected to All-CAA cross country team |

12:05 p.m., Dec. 19, 2002--University of Delaware mens cross country standouts Pat Riley and Mike Sadowsky have been named to the 2002 All-Colonial Athletic Association Men's Cross Country team.

Riley, a junior, and Sadowsky, a senior, were among 12 runners named to the All-CAA team based on a vote of conference coaches. Delaware did not have any runners named to the All-CAA womens team.
Riley led the Blue Hens in each of the last 16 races he competed in over the last two seasons. He posted top 10 finishes in seven of the eight races he competed in this season and won individual titles at both Delaware Invitational meets.
Riley led all Blue Hen runners at the CAA championships in October with a fifth-place finish and later placed 21st at the NCAA district meet. He also led the team at the 2001 CAA meet with a fourth-place finish and was sixth at the 2000 America East conference meet.
Sadowsky, a team tri-captain and three-year letter winner, posted three top 10 finishes during the 2002 campaign, placing fifth at the Towson Invitational and at both Delaware Invitational meets. He placed 11th at the 2002 CAA championships after placing 19th the previous year.
Joining Riley and Sadowsky on the men's All-CAA team were Ed Moran, John O'Connor, Jacob Frey, Charlie Hurt, West Garrett, Michael Keeling and Adam Otstot from William & Mary; Evan Kays and John Fraser of James Madison; and Pius Stucki of Virginia Commonwealth.
Moran was named Athlete of the Year, William & Mary's Matthew Kelly was named Rookie of the Year and William & Mary's Andrew Gerard was named Coach of the Year.
On the womens side, the All-CAA team consisted of Ali Henderson, Maura McMahon, Tara Geulig, Jackie Kosakowski, Kristyn Shiring and Lauren Heron of William & Mary; Molly DeFrancesco, Cindy Dunham, Nelly Anderson, Shannon Saunders and Kelly Baker of James Madison; and Michelle DiPenti of George Mason.
DeFrancesco was named Athlete of the Year, Anderson was named Rookie of the Year and JMU's Dave Rinker was named Coach of the Year.
