Travel Alert: Intermittent lane closures needed on Summit Bridge

Sept. 6, 2002--The Army Corps of Engineers has informed the Delaware Department of Transportation that intermittent lane closures will be needed on both the northbound and southbound sides of the Summit Bridge on Route 896 on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 9-10.

Crews will flush out drains and clean the roadway surface on the southbound side first, starting with the left lane and then move to the right lane. On Sept. 10, crews will clean the northbound left lane and then move to the right lane.

Motorists should use caution while driving on the bridge structure during this time period. For the latest in traffic and related information, visit DelDOT’s web site at [www.deldot.net], or tune-in to WTMC-AM, 1380.
