UD takes to the track

The University of Delaware men’s and women’s indoor track teams will compete in the Thomson/Delaware Invitational in the Delaware Field House Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1-2.

Delaware’s Jon Dizzi looks to continue his hot streak in the pole vault competition. Just two weeks ago, Dizzi was named the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for his achievements.

Also competing will be David Robinson, winner of the Delaware Invitational triple jump competition, and Mike Sadowsky, who won the 5000-meter competition in the Bucknell Invitational.

Delaware’s Aimee Alexander has had a strong season in the mile and 3,000 meters, Jennie Chiller was champion in the weight throw at the Bucknell Invitational and Tyechia Smith won the 400 meters at the Prince George’s Invitational.

The meet will start at 6 p.m., Friday, and continue at 1:30 p.m., Saturday.
