UD softball team takes to the road
 

Following a three-game weekend series at home against James Madison, the University of Delaware softball team prepares for an extended series of road games.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens (11-13, 2-1 CAA) will travel to LaSalle for a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10.

Delaware then will visit Hofstra for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association weekend series, with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13, and a single game on Sunday, April 14.

The Hens will travel to Rider for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 17, to Drexel for a three-game CAA series on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, and to Villanova for a doubleheader Wednesday, April 24.

They will return home to face CAA rival George Mason in a three-game weekend series Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28.

Delaware will wind up the regular season with games at Rutgers on Tuesday, April 30, at home against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County on Wednesday, May 1, and at Towson on Saturday and Sunday , May 4-5.

The CAA championships will be held May 10-12.

In spring break action, the Hens swept Delaware State 5-3 and 7-2 on April 3.

Delaware won two of three against JMU over the weekend. The teams split a doubleheader on Saturday, the Hens winning the first game 3-0 then dropping the second 4-1.

On Sunday, Delaware won 5-4 on a game-winning pinch-hit single by sophomore Liz Winslow in the bottom of the seventh.
