Edley to present Louis Redding Diversity Lecture March 21

The University of Delaware’s annual Louis Redding Diversity Lecture will feature author Christopher Edley, Jr., who will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in 140 Smith Hall.

Edley, who has taught at the Harvard Law School since 1981, is the author of the book “Not All Black and White: Affirmative Action, Race and American Values.” The book is a result of his work as special counsel to former President Bill Clinton and his role as director of the review of Affirmative Action undertaken by the Clinton White House.

Edley is the founding co-director of the Civil Rights Project, a Harvard-based multidisciplinary research and advocacy think tank, and is also a member of the bipartisan U.S. Civil Commission.

Edley also will be presenting UD’s Redding Diversity Award.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Commission to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity.

For additional information, call UD’s Center for Black Culture at 831-2991.
