Railroad crossing replacement
temporarily closes Old Baltimore Pike

Norfolk-Southern Railroad, in consultation with the Department of Transportation's Public Works Section, announces that it will close Old Baltimore Pike, between Route 896 and Route 72, for a railroad crossing replacement operation.

The five-day project will close the roadway from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26. Due to this work, the roadway will only be open to local traffic between Route 896 and Old Cooches Bridge.

Established detour routes advise motorists traveling west to use Route 72 south to Route 40 west and then onto Route 896 north. Likewsie, motorists traveling eastbound should use Route 896 south to Route 40 east to Route 72 north.
