2:35 p.m., Nov. 15, 2002--UD President David P. Roselle was the subject of a lengthy profile in the Nov. 10 issue of the Sunday News Journal.
Headlined UDs Roselle a renaissance man and builder of bridges, the page one article by Dennis Thompson Jr. survey Roselles career with special attention to his accomplishments as president of UD.
According to the article, Roselles supporters said the changes he has shepherded at UD have made the university a stronger and more respected academic institution, and an essential partner with the state and local companies in economic development.
UD trustee Charles Cawley, who is chief executive officer of MBNA Corp., is quoted, If you decided to list the most important community leaders in the state of Delaware, Im not sure David Roselle wouldnt be one or two or three on that list. Id probably put him one.
The article concludes, Leveraging small changes that add up to bigger things is what Roselle said he takes the most satisfaction from as he looks back over his years at the university. The goal should be to leave the wood pile a little higher than it was when you found it, Roselle said. I think we have in fact been able to add a little to the height of the wood pile.
