Haugabrook is Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of Week

10:20 a.m., Nov. 12, 2002--University of Delaware defensive back Sidney Haugabrook was named the Atlantic 10 Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Blue Hens’ 37-13 victory over the University of Maine on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Haugabrook, a sophomore from Atlanta who has been asked to play both cornerback and safety this season, returned his eighth career interception 41 yards for a touchdown and collected a team-high nine tackles in UD’s victory over Maine, which had been ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division I-AA entering the contest.

Haugabrook also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.

The UD win snapped a six-game road losing streak and Maine’s 11-game home winning streak.
