A memorial service for John C. Nye, director of Delaware Cooperative Extension and former dean of UD’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 6, at the Bob Carpenter Center. After the service, a reception will be held in the Townsend Hall Commons.
Dr. Nye, who served as dean of the college from 1991-2001, died April 30 at Christina Medical Center. Devoted to his family and students of the college, Dr. Nye was a proponent of agriculture, natural resources, preservation, education, research and extension.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the John C. Nye Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Delaware. Contributions can be directed to the University of Delaware Office of Development, Rees Hall, 78 East Delaware Ave., Newark, DE 19716.
