Delaware men's soccer falls to Howard in OT
 

Sept.. 30, 2002--Hugh Harvey scored 6:45 into the second-overtime to lead Howard to a 3-2 victory over the University of Delaware men's soccer team Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28, at Delaware Mini-Stadium.

The Blue Hens trailed 2-0 until senior forward Mike Honeysett converted a penalty-kick at 88:31 to cut the deficit in half.

With 24 seconds left in regulation, Delaware sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Haynes took a free-kick that was batted around in front of the Howard net and was finally put in by freshman forward Mike Rakowski to square the match, 2-2.

Dave Mitchell put Howard ahead 1-0 in the first-half when he outraced the Blue Hen defense for a breakaway goal. Brian Woodward extended the lead to 2-0 midway through the second-half as he converted a cross from Kwesi Graham at 74:10.

Rakowski's goal was his first at Delaware (1-5-1).

Haynes made one save for the Hens, while Jason Williams had five saves for Howard (1-7).

The Blue Hens return to action Tuesday, Oct. 1, when they play host to Navy at Delaware Mini-Stadium. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
