Rap star, activist KRS-ONE to speak Feb. 28

A talk by rap star and activist KRS-ONE will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, in Mitchell Hall, and there will be a charge for admission.

His speech on “Urban Inspirational Metaphysics” is one he has given on college campuses nationwide as a leader in the movement to raise social and political conscience of the hip-hop culture.

The rapper, whose name stands for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone, has been a staple in the hip-hop world since 1986 and just released his 10th album, “Spiritual Minded,” in January.

The KRS-ONE lecture is one part of a series put together for The Center for Black Culture’s annual African Consciousness Celebration in observance of Black History Month.

For more information on any of these lectures, call the Center for Black Culture at (302) 831-2991.
